After watching him on Iyanla "Fix My Life", I got a WHOOOOLE different view of Mr. X. I saw a man who had been broken; a man of DEEP Pain from his past and not really ever learning how to cope with his trauma. We can watch and say, "Well that happened to me and I'm ok"...ok, yes, maybe YOU are but what is severly tramatic to one may not be as serious to another. Whatever wiring he has cause him to not TRUST anyone, which leads to insecurity. Abandonment Issues are also present which makes him want to hold TIGHT to who he has/had around him but the problem is...he can't handle Love cuz he never really knew it.
WATCH him on Iyanla...You will hear him talking about going from woman-to-woman and how detached he really was from most of them. You will see his own son looks at himself in the mirror, only to see a reflection the father that he never really knew. HURT. PAIN. TRAUMA is REAL and Adulthood does not automatically erase it...in fact, it often does the opposite by magnifying it. DMX is a perfect example of this.
Mental Health Issues are REAL and many people self-medicate with alcohol, drugs, sex and whatever else fills that void. We see DMX here in this video acting a Plum Fool...YES he is! But we gotta remember...he is stuck at age 7, the age he was wounded so naturally...he deals with life as such.
There are MANY like him...scarred from the past, surviving in the present and hoping for a better future...PRAY for the DMX's around the Globe.
